Add email account to the Outlook app (Android)
In this article, you will learn how to add an IMAP email account in the Outlook app for Android. Because there are different versions of Outlook, this guide applies only to the Outlook app for Android.
In this example we use the domain examplewebsite.nl. Make sure to replace this with your own domain. The domain is the part after the @ sign in your email address (@examplewebsite.com) or what you type into your browser's address bar (for example, after https://www.).
Add email to the Outlook app
1. In the Outlook app, click on the top left Outlook logo.
2. In the pop-up menu, click on the plus.
3. In the new pop-up menu, select Add account.
4. If you have previously set up accounts in Outlook, click on Skip.
5. Enter your email address now and click at the bottom Continue.
6. Select IMAP
7. On the next screen, you will now be asked to connection dealing with IMAP.
- Email address: this is filled in automatically.
- Email password: enter your email password
- Display name (optional): enter your company name or your own name.Â
- Description (optional): is often left blank.
Open then at the bottom Advanced settings.
- IMAP hostname: examplewebsite.nl, replace this with your own domain or a hostname obtained by us
- IMAP Port: 993
- Security type: SSL/TLS
- IMAP username: enter your email address
- IMAP password: enter your email password
- SMTP hostname:Â examplewebsite.nl, replace this with your own domain or a hostname obtained by us
- SMTP Port: 465
- Security type: SSL/TLS
- SMTP username: enter your email address
- SMTP password: enter your email password
When everything is filled in, click top right on the finch to link the email address.
Your email has now been successfully added to the Outlook app.
