Add email account to classic Outlook (Windows)
This article explains how to add an IMAP email account in Outlook. Because Outlook is available in several versions, this guide only applies to classic Outlook.
In this example we use the domain examplewebsite.nl. Make sure to replace this with your own domain. The domain is the part after the @ sign in your email address (@examplewebsite.com) or what you type into your browser's address bar (for example, after https://www.).
Add email to classic Outlook
1. In Outlook, first click on File.
2. Then on Add account.
3. Click on Advanced options and tick '‘I want to set up my account manually’'. Then enter the email address and click on Connect.
4. Select IMAP
5. Please fill in the requested information as explained below.
- Bee Incoming email choose the encryption method SSL/TLS, set the port to 993 and enter the incoming mail server. In this example we use examplewebsite.nl, replace this with your own domain.
- Bee Outgoing email do you also choose SSL/TLS as encryption method, set the port to 465 and enter the outgoing mail server. Here too, you use your own domain, for example examplewebsite.nl.
6. Then click on Next
7. Fill it in Password and then click on Connect
Your email has now been successfully added to classic Outlook.
